Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

  1. Why is Nash County joining Trillium?
On November 22, 2016 the Nash County Board of Commissioners voted to leave Eastpointe and asked for permission to join Trillium Health Resources. On November 28, 2016 the Trillium governing board voted to accept Nash County.

The Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services has authority to approve a county’s request to leave a managed care organization (such as Trillium or Eastpointe). Former Secretary Brajer notified Trillium on December 6, 2016 that he approved Nash County’s request. The effective date of the change will be July 1, 2017.
  2. How many people will join Trillium’s region?
Trillium will work with DHHS and Nash County to determine the number of individuals who live in Nash County, receive services for I/DD or behavioral health, and will transition to Trillium.
  3. Will Trillium have an office in Nash County?
At this time, Trillium does not plan to keep an office in Nash County but anyone can call the 24-Hour Access to Care Line at 1-877-685-2415. Nash County will be part of the Central Region with Trillium and the central regional director, System of Care Coordinators, and other Trillium staff will work directly with Nash County agencies and partner offices.
  4. When will I get new paperwork about this change?
We have started mailing welcome letters to Nash County members and will continue over the next few weeks. The letters will include the Notice of Privacy Practices with Trillium. Members can view the Trillium members Handbook here.  When members on Medicaid receive a new Medicaid card from the state, it will have Trillium’s name.

  5. Rocky Mount is split between Nash and Edgecombe counties. How will Trillium handle this situation?
Trillium is working with county, city and state agencies along with providers to make sure correct protocol is followed as far as billing is concerned. We understand the difficulties involved and will do our best to follow current practices when dealing with the city or county officials.

  6. Once Nash County moves to Trillium, which state psychiatric hospital will serve the residents?
Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro will continue to serve Nash County and 37 other counties in the eastern part of the state.

  7. Will my care coordinator change before July 1?
While a new Trillium Care Coordinator may reach out to you before July, if you have a Care Coordinator with Eastpointe you will continue to use them until then. You may call Trillium at 1.866.998.2597 to ask about Care Coordination if you are not notified by the new Trillium Care Coordinator
