Trillium has embarked on a groundbreaking effort to redesign and right-size the child services system. We are committed to helping families and children—infants and toddlers to teens to youth transitioning to young adulthood--heal and achieve recovery from behavioral health issues.

  • We want to be sure we are delivering the right services, in the right amount, at the right time to meet the needs of children and youth.  
  • We want to ensure treatment is delivered with fidelity and integrity. 
  • We want to increase the availability and the standardization of prevention services as early in the life of children as possible to reduce the potential of developing serious mental health or substance use conditions requiring high cost and long-term treatment.  

Trillium is investing resources to redesign and expand the available behavioral health services and providers who specialize in children’s services in Eastern North Carolina. This initiative, known as the 2020 Child Vision, will be implemented over a multi-year process with the goal of creating a supportive community that provides the protective environmental fabric for children and youth to thrive and live healthy lives.

Here are some of the enhancements to the Children’s services array that Trillium has made thus far to better support children in Eastern North Carolina:

North Carolina was selected as a replication site for Child First, assisted by the efforts of Trillium Health Resources. Coastal Horizons, Easterseals UCP, Kids First, and the Power of U are all affiliated agencies in the Trillium catchment area
 Intensive Alternative Family Treatment (IAFT)

  Comprehensive Health Assessment for Teens (CHAT)
A clinically validated interactive assessment tool created for adolescents ages 13-18 that provides a comprehensive picture of the adolescent’s presenting issues for treatment, including mental health, substance use conditions, medical problems, relational issues, and environmental and education-related challenges.
