Trillium Health Resources recognizes monthly awareness events sponsored by local or national organizations and agencies. By helping to publicize these events, we bring attention to these causes to help reduce stigma and share the need for the proper services to address them.

Trillium coordinates services for serious mental health, substance use, traumatic brain injury, and intellectual and developmental disabilities in 46 counties in North Carolina. We work within our local communities to help everyone reach their fullest potential by also, promoting programs, initiatives, and supports outside of contracted services.

February Awareness

Black History Month

Black and Gold background with phrase Recognizing the diversity and contributions of African Americans

The story of Black History Month begins in 1915, half a century after the Thirteenth Amendment abolished slavery in the United States.

That September, the Harvard-trained historian Carter G. Woodson and the prominent minister Jesse E. Moorland founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (ASNLH), an organization dedicated to researching and promoting achievements by Black Americans and other peoples of African descent.

Join Trillium on social media as we explore the contributions of African Americans, share their cultural identities, and explain how certain health disparities affect this population.
