Gold Standard Certification for Research-Based Behavioral Health Treatment (RB-BHT) Providers
The Trillium Gold Standard Certification for Research-Based Behavioral Health Treatment (“RB-BHT”) establishes a voluntary program focused on promoting high quality performance standards. The program recognizes providers who demonstrate measurable clinical outcomes, meaningful caregiver engagement, workforce stability, coordinated step-down planning, and strong digital accountability.
This program is a Trillium-specific preferred provider distinction that exceeds baseline Medicaid compliance requirements. Providers with the Gold Standard or Gold Elite status have indicated they have exceeded the baseline requirements for RB-BHT providers.
Eligibility and Application:
Providers interested in submitting application for Trillium Gold Standard Certification for RBBHT providers must be fully contracted with Trillium to apply for Gold Standard Certification.
To apply, providers must:
- Submit a formal application attesting willingness to meet Gold Standards
- Agree to mandatory use of the Attend Behavior platform (see below for more details)
- Participate in periodic monitoring activities from Trillium

Trillium will use a proprietary set of scoring metrics to select suitable providers. We will notify all providers whether they have been selected or denied for the Gold Standard Certification. Providers must pass all 5 gates to earn Gold Certification. Certification is valid for one year and subject to periodic review.

*Providers who do not apply may continue operations under standard Trillium contractual requirements, but will not be eligible for future incentives. Gold Standard Certification is a performance distinction, not a network requirement.

Available in partnership with Trillium at no cost to providers or their members and families served.
