Trillium Health Resources Statement on Medicaid Rebase Funding
Funding will ensure essential coverage to more than 3 million North Carolinians

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Trillium Health Resources is pleased to acknowledge the North Carolina General Assembly’s passage of legislation providing approximately $319 million in Medicaid rebase funding to address the previously identified funding gap. This gap reflects the difference between current reimbursement rates and the actual cost of delivering essential behavioral health, intellectual/developmental disability, traumatic brain injury, and physical health services across the state.

We appreciate this shared commitment among Governor Stein, the NCGA, state leaders, and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to ensure the stability and sustainability of North Carolina’s Medicaid program.

Trillium is grateful for this investment, which supports a program that provides essential healthcare coverage to more than three million North Carolinians. Individuals and families across the state depend on NC Medicaid for access to critical services, daily supports, and preventative health care.

“This funding represents an important step in maintaining access to care for those who rely on Medicaid,” said Joy Futrell, Chief Executive Officer. “Providers rely on sufficient and predictable funding so they can continue delivering high-quality services to communities across North Carolina.”

Trillium remains committed to working collaboratively with state partners, providers, and community stakeholders to support members and providers, and strengthen the public healthcare system.
