Trillium Health Resources and NAMI Guilford County Announce the Opening of NAMI Guilford at Beaman Place
Trillium provided funding to enhance opportunities for peer support, mental health education, and access to resources

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Trillium Health Resources and NAMI Guilford County announce the opening of the NAMI Guilford at Beaman Place – a new peer-led mental health center in Greensboro serving residents across Guilford County and surrounding communities, including Randolph County, with free peer-led mental health support, resources and education.

There are an estimated 125,000 people in Guilford County who could experience a mental health concern this year. Individuals and their loved ones may need support accessing mental health services to ensure they get the care they need. Navigating the system can be overwhelming and isolating. NAMI Guilford at Beaman Place offers individuals and families a trusted place to go for guidance on the behavioral health system, improved access to care, and support throughout their mental wellness journey.

NAMI Guilford at Beaman Place provides a welcoming space for individuals and families to access peer support, education, and resources, along with connecting them with mental health providers and community partners. Peer support is led by individuals with lived experience and helps individuals feel more confident, hopeful, and in control of their recovery. This often leads to longer engagement in treatment, fewer hospitalizations, and stronger social connections.

"We want to make sure no one feels alone. We support everyone and their support network every step of the way," said Becky Eller, Board of Director, NAMI Guilford County.

NAMI Guilford at Beaman Place also offers evidence-based programs, workshops, and activities designed to reduce stigma, promote early intervention, and expand access to mental health resources.

“Trillium is proud to support NAMI Guilford County in continuing their work to strengthen the local mental health support network, empower peer support specialists, and ensure that residents navigating mental health concerns have a place to go where they will find guidance, connection, and a community that understands their journey,” said Hayley Sink, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Innovation for Trillium Health Resources.

Trillium and NAMI Guilford County will host a ribbon cutting on Thursday, February 19 at 11 a.m. Media are invited to attend.
