Trillium Announces Launch of THRive Local Community Plan
Trillium Health Resources Announces Launch of THRive Local Community Plan
GREENVILLE, N.C. –Trillium Health Resources announced the launch of THRive Local, a county-focused, community plan designed to strengthen local systems of care through targeted local partnerships, provider collaboration, and community-driven solutions.
THRive Local focuses on programs that respond to local priorities for citizens with a behavioral health or I/DD diagnosis across the 46 counties Trillium serves. By leveraging the flexibility of county dollars—alongside Trillium’s strategic investments—the plan enables communities to address needs and build capacity in ways that may not be possible through Medicaid or limited state funding models.
THRive Local is unique in its county-specific approach. Each county is represented, ensuring investments reflect local needs, gaps, and opportunities while supporting broader regional and system-level impact.
Examples of impactful programs funded include:
- Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Training: 3,810 law enforcement officers and first responders trained to better support individuals experiencing behavioral health crises
- Mobile clinics: 12 Units operated by 6 provider organizations, serving 21 rural counties
- Inclusive playgrounds: 43 playgrounds opened or announced to promote accessible recreation for all children regardless of abilities
- Mobile crisis: Enhancements to mobile crisis services including co-responder approaches with local law enforcement
- Regional crisis plans: collaborative strategies to ensure that people with a behavioral health crisis can access care when it is needed
“THRive Local reflects our commitment to the communities we serve, not just as a managed care organization, but as a local long-term public system partner,” said Cindy Ehlers, Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at Trillium Health Resources. “Our county-level relationships allow us to design programs that address real, local needs and contribute to meaningful health outcomes.”
THRive Local underscores Trillium’s mission to invest in the communities where people live, work, and receive care. Through THRive Local, Trillium aims to strengthen local infrastructure, support community partners, and create opportunities for individuals and families to thrive.
Trillium will host its inaugural THRive Local Awards ceremonies this spring to recognize individuals, organizations, and community leaders who help Trillium members and residents thrive every day.
