Trillium providing funds for the ADLA, Inc. Community Opportunity Center
$1.3M will enhance opportunities to address health disparities and workforce development

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Trillium Health Resources is providing $1,386,416 to help develop an opportunity center with ADLA (A lot of Direction, Love, and Affection), Inc. Since 2003 ADLA, Inc. has been dedicated to producing positive outcomes for youth and adults. ADLA, Inc. has served as a pillar in the community, consistently providing services to youth and adults to bridge the achievement and unemployment gaps present in Wayne County and surrounding counties and communities.

The ADLA Community Opportunity Center will help improve a variety of health and social outcomes. Case managers will help coordinate care, navigate health care systems, and connect individuals with appropriate resources. Health literacy programs will offer workshops to educate and empower individuals to manage their health conditions, understand their rights, and access available services and supports. The education and workforce development program will teach skills for digital literacy, schedule GED trainings, and help guide the transition into skilled employment or post-secondary educational opportunities.

Additional planned impacts of the ADLA Community Opportunity Center will be:

  • Increase digital connectivity by providing access to digital resources and broadband internet to individuals and families.
  • Offer training programs to improve digital literacy, enabling individuals to effectively navigate the shift to a digital-first society, including the use of telehealth and accessing online health information and records.
  • ADLA, Inc. will leverage existing relationships with the juvenile justice system, behavioral health and integrated care providers, housing agencies, and faith- and community-based organizations to meet the needs of members, neighbors and communities.
  • ADLA, Inc. will continue to utilize its robust food distribution and culinary arts program to provide employment and address food insecurity across eastern North Carolina.

"At Trillium, we believe lasting change happens when communities come together to meet people where they are,” said Cindy Ehlers, Chief of Strategy and Innovation at Trillium. “We are proud to support ADLA, Inc. and their Community Opportunity Center that will empower individuals through health education, digital access, and critical support services that build brighter futures for our members and neighbors."
