Trillium providing funds for opportunity center with ADLA, Inc.
$1.3M will enhance opportunities to address health disparities and workforce development

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – Trillium Health Resources is providing $1,386,416 to help develop an opportunity center with ADLA, Inc. Since 2003 ADLA, Inc. has been dedicated to producing positive outcomes for youth and adults. ADLA, Inc. has served as a pillar in the community, consistently providing services to youth and adults who represent the economically disadvantaged and educationally at risk.

The opportunity center will help improve a variety of health and social outcomes. Case managers will help coordinate care, navigate health care systems, and connect individuals with the necessary resources. Health literacy programs will offer workshops to educate individuals about managing their health conditions, understanding their rights, and accessing available services. The education and workforce development program will schedule GED trainings and help guide transition into skilled employment or post-secondary educational opportunities.

Additional planned impact of the ADLA, Inc. opportunity center will be: 

  • Digital Connectivity and Literacy: 
    • Provide access to digital and internet services to individuals and families who lack access 
    • Offer training programs to improve digital literacy, enabling individuals to effectively use telehealth services, access online health information and manage their health records. 
  • ADLA, Inc. will establish a rapport with the Juvenile Justice System, Behavioral Health Agencies, and community-based organizations to work with justice-involved youth. 
  • ADLA, Inc. will continue to utilize its food continuum to address any food insecurity needs of families. 
  • ADLA, Inc. will continue to address housing needs by working with Housing agencies and community partners.
