Trillium providing funds for respite facility
$524,500 will support facility serving adolescents in Columbus County

CHADBOURN, N.C. – Trillium Health Resources is providing $524,500 to help develop a respite facility serving adolescents ages 8 through 17. Operated by Life Changing Behavioral Health Center and located in Chadbourn, the facility will serve those with Medicaid and mental health diagnoses.

The facility will have six beds and be funded on an on-going basis through 1915i Respite services. Each member will have their own bedroom, with separate sections of the facility for males and females.

Along with the construction of the facility, additional planned impact of the Life Changing Behavioral Health Center will be: 

• Safe and caring environment offering temporary relief for family members or caregivers who provide constant care to loved ones 
• Services include:  
  • Emergency Crisis Stay
  • Hospital Preventions
  • Early Release from hospitals
  • Prevention of homelessness
  • Short-term stay

“Trillium is excited to work with Life Changing Behavioral Health to repurpose a part of Chadbourn Middle School so it can continue to support this community and county” stated Joy Futrell, CEO of Trillium Health Resources. “Providers like Life Changing Behavioral Health know the community and how to best meet the needs of children who might otherwise end up sleeping in a DSS office . We are excited about the opportunities this will offer to families and children  who will benefit from respite services.”
