Tailored Plan Launch is Delayed
NC Medicaid will delay Tailored Plan Launch beyond October 2023. A new launch date has not been announced.

Medicaid expansion will no longer launch Oct. 1 as the North Carolina General Assembly failed to take needed action to meet that date. A new launch date will be announced following the needed legislative action, but it will not be Oct. 1.

Below you will see three sections. If you are not sure, you can look on your Medicaid ID card to see which plan you have.
Please note: Due to the delay of the Tailored Plan, all Medicaid members will be served by NC Medicaid Direct. Certain items in the Tailored Plan section (like requesting new ID cards) may not be available. If you receive Medicaid, you can request a new ID card from your local Department of Social Services.
Tailored Plan Medicaid Members: for those receiving Medicaid who have been placed on the Tailored Plan (launch date will be shared soon)
State-funded Recipients: for those who do not have insurance
NC Medicaid Direct: for those who are on Medicaid but are not in the Tailored Plan.
