Launched in 2020, Trillium's Mobile Integrated Care Units were developed to bring critical health services directly to residents in rural and underserved communities across eastern North Carolina. These custom-outfitted vehicles offer an integrated model of behavioral health, primary care, and care coordination, designed to close persistent gaps in access for populations with limited transportation or clinic availability.

Each unit is equipped with secure telehealth technology, private clinical exam rooms, and staffed by licensed clinical professionals. Services are delivered with a whole-person approach, addressing both physical and mental health needs in a single encounter.

In 2025, Trillium began integrating this model into Medicaid billing workflows, creating a sustainable reimbursement pathway under North Carolina's managed care system. The units have been deployed in counties including Bladen, Brunswick, and Columbus, with future expansion anticipated based on local needs and policy alignment.
