NCCDD's Self-Advocate Discussion Series
Assistive Technology
Spanish, ASL, and CART Captioning will be available.
Facilitated by Chris Hendricks, NCCDD Policy Education Coordinator and NCCDD self-advocate members, the Self-Advocate Discussion Series aims to keep North Carolina self-advocates informed and engaged in discussion on topics of social and systems change.
Assistive technology (AT) is equipment that helps people with disabilities perform everyday tasks more easily, safely, and independently. The Assistive Technology Act provides funding toward programs that make these resources more accessible. But for many, navigating the system to find and secure the right tools is a challenge.
In this session, the North Carolina Assistive Technology Program will share how they're helping individuals across North Carolina access AT so they can live the life they want.
Register for this session to learn about why AT matters and how you or someone you support can get connected to the right resources.
