Trillium awards contract to Easterseals PORT Health to reopen facility-based crisis center in Jacksonville
Facility will be in same location as the closed Dix Crisis Intervention Center

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – Trillium Health Resources awarded a contract to Easterseals PORT Health to reopen a facility-based crisis center in Jacksonville. Located at 215 Memorial Drive, the facility will be in the same location as the closed Dix Crisis Intervention Center.

As with the previous center, the 16-bed facility will serve adults with mental health and/or substance use disorders, including those in need of non-hospital medical detoxification.

Trillium immediately began the process of identifying a provider once RI announced they were ending their services at the Dix Crisis Center in 2024. Crisis care is an important service for addressing conditions before they become critical. “The re-opening of the Dix Crisis Center marks a transformative step forward in how we support individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges in our community. More than just a facility, the Dix Crisis Center is a place where people will be met with compassion, support, and the resources they need, when they need them most. This important work would not be possible without our partnership with Trillium Health Resources and Easterseals PORT Health, and we are proud to stand together to meet this vital need,” shared Kari Sanders, Assistant County Manager with Onslow County.

Easterseals PORT Health will formally open the facility on June 23. Please visit Easterseals PORT Health for more information.
